City on the Table

photography, digital collage, hand embroidery

2024-2026

In City on the Table, the artist creates cities that never existed but can nevertheless be seen, using hardware and everyday objects. Unable to visit every place, she constructs her own spaces that exist on the boundary between everyday life and imagination.

Bolts, nuts, and screws become skyscrapers, towers, and streets. All the works in the series unfold in a nocturnal setting. For the artist, night is associated with dreams, inner journeys, and the freedom of imagination. The stars in the images are made from salt and sugar, while the moon is created by the light of a table lamp. These elements create a universe of its own, where industrial objects become architecture and everyday things become part of a personal mythology.

Each composition is created specifically for the photographic process. Afterwards, everything is dismantled, and the objects return to their everyday purposes. The image becomes the only evidence of the existence of the mythical city and a memory of a journey that never actually took place.
